The game only got the go ahead from the referee half an hour before kick-off due to the amount of standing water on the park. However teh Airdrie United groundstaff did some excellent work and managed to satisfy Mr Fabian, the Hungarian official.
Queens got off to the worst possible start as they were caught within two minutes of the kick-off as a corner was volleyed into the net by Kibebe. It stunned the home fans, those that had managed to battle the traffic and weather to get to the ground on time, but only for a second as a stragely silent goal celebration was soon replaced by chants of encouragement from the Queens fans lining either length of the stadium.

On the quarter hour Paul Burns made a great run from inside his own half and played a neat one two with Sean O'Connor inside the FC Nordsjaelland penalty are before a defender could get in to block his shot. The pre-match talk from the Danes had been of their expectation of a physical approach by Queens, it has to be said however that it was the Danes who adopted a more physical approach this evening.
On top of their physical approach was a good deal of quality football and they were unlucky with an effort that Bryn Halliwell forced onto the bar on the twenty minute mark.
Just before the half hour mark Gary Arbuckle was blocked on the edge of the box as he looked to go around a defender, the free kick was taken by Jamie McQuilken and his perfectly flighted ball was met by Sean O'Connor who headed powerfully home to the delight of almost the entire stadium.

The joy was short lived however as another break by the pacey Danes down their left exposed Queens defence and Patrice Bernier slid home number two to restore their advantage.
Queens though were still in determined mood and from another free kick Sean O'Connor almost scored the equaliser but his header went fractionally wide of the post.
At the start of the second half Gary Arbuckle made way for Stephen Dobbie and Stewart Kean swapped to the left hand side of the park. Dobbs instantly produced a chance out of nothing as he drilled an effort across goal that Sean O'Connor just failed to connect with. Dobbs was at the centre of most things as he and Paul Burns had some success down the Nordsjaelland left. From a corner Stewart Kean was unlucky as the ball seemed to come to him a bit to quickly with the result that it bounced down then up and over the bar.
Gordon Chisholm swapped things around in the 70th minute as he brought on Jamie Adams in place of Neil Macfarlane. Then seven minutes later Bob Harris came on for Craig Reid, however the play was bogged down in the middle of the park and little in the way fo chances were being made at either end.
Queens put in a sterling effort to get an equaliser in the last five minutes of normal time and three minutes of added time but it was not to be and whilst the loss of two away goals is disappointing there is no doubt that Queens have the ability to unsettle the Danish defence and will get goalscoring chances in Farum. It's only half time after all.
