Members of the Internet Fan Club can award players marks out of ten for their performance today. The player with the most points awarded in the two days following a match will be the IFC Man of the Match. All of the points will then be added to a running total for each player and the results published in the mom League Table.

| MATCH SUMMARY |
Today proved that their is tons of passion matched with a large helping of skill in the Queens side as they withstood some early and late pressure but crucially made the most chances and scored one of them to give them yet three more points from the Bairns.
The line-up today was supposed to have only the one change with captain Steve Bowey having been sidelined following his operation earlier in the week, his place being taken by Paul Burns. However the warm-up hoodo of Colin Scott struck and the accident prone 'keeper yet again had to be scratched from the line up with youth 'keeper Graeme Wright being named on the bench. Other changes were restricted to the bench as Derek Allan and Joe McAlpine came back for one last time. The game started with Falkirk looking the most threatening of the sides as they passed the ball about well at pace and caused Queens a number of problems through the middle of the park, however their actual end-product must have been disappointing to their fans as they very rarely posed a threat to Craig Samson in the home goals. However, after those first ten minutes of Falkirk pressure Queens began to come more into the match with Emilio Jaconelli showing some typical dogged determination as he chased down Darren Hill in the Falkirk goal causing the 'keeper to rush his clearance and smashing it off Jaconelli, the ball fell to Alex Burke and he tried to make space for a shot on the unguarded goal but found the defence and the angle too difficult to get around. Queens then rehearsed a move as Alex Burke chipped the ball in from the right onto the head of Emilio Jaconelli the young striker though was just finding his range as he nodded over the bar. Six minutes on and it was time for the real thing as this time David Bagan chipped the ball over the tall but generally static Falkirk defence and onto the head of Emilio, this time Mambo made no mistake and noded comfortably past Hill to give Queens an early lead. |

Falkirk were making a game of it and the ball was played from end to end at pace, however Jim Thomson had a comfortable afternoon with Jason Lee unable to pose much threat at all.

Queens were pressing well with Alex Burke giving the fans some fancy footwork to admire in his last match for the club, his combination with Jaconelli something that we would have liked to have had the chance to see more of. Falkirk were by no means out of the match and with around seven minutes of the half to go Ryan McStay sprinted through on a breakaway before firing an effort that beat Samson but also flew just over the bar, giving warning that they did have some firepower with them this afternoon.

Queens ended the half with a flourish as first Brian McColligan found himself in some face on the front of the 'D', he shaped and shot but the 'keeper was well positioned to collect comfortably. Then in a mad defensive effort Queens threatened to score as Burke, then Bagan and finally Gibson all had shots that were either blocked or deflected away.
The second half started at a similar tempo to the first as both sides produced some entertaining football, infact Falkirk did have the ball in the back of the net after fifteen minutes of the half but Craig Samson was also barged over by the Falkirk attacker. |

With fifteen minutes to go Alex Burke set David Bagan up with a glorious chance as Burkey rolled the ball across the edge of the box for Bagan to crash it goalward but also off the underside of the bar. In the remainder of the half Brian McColligan was booked for an innocuous challenge, Sean O'Connor replaced Emilio Jaconelli and Joe McAlpine got the chance to say goodbye as he came on for David Bagan with five minutes to go.

All in all it was a superb performance and both sides deserve credit for producing such good fare when there was nothing bar pride at stake. It was also good to see so many Falkirk fans, hopefully they enjoyed their trip to Dumfries despite the result.
