To no great surprise, given the present run, Gordon Chisholm named an unchanged Queens side to that which drew with leaders St Johnstone last weekend. The only change was on the bench where club captain Jim Thomson replaced Andy Aitken. There had been some concerns through the week about Stephen Dobbie but he took his place alongside Sean O'Connor up front. The home side were without top scorer Pat Clarke through suspension and midfield dynamo Marvyn Wilson through injury.

Queens started brightly and earned a 5th minute corner from the right that Craig Barr headed powerfully goalward and David Hutton parried off his own crossbar and away. However, two minutes later Clyde took the lead at the other end as a decent passing move saw Willie McLaren surge into the penalty area and go down under challenge from Robinson. Calum Murray had no hesitation and there was little complaint as Alan Trouten stepped up to slot the ball into the bottom right corner despite Robinson going the right way.

Queens almost levelled straight from kick off as O'Connor took advantage of a defensive slip to tee up Dobbie but the in form striker shot wildly over the top from the edge of the box. Clyde were by no means sitting on their lead though and Stevenson fired in a low free kick that Robinson did well to hold. Up the other end Hutton did the same with a Harris one from a little further out. Next to try his luck from 20 yards was Macfarlane but his shot curled narrowly wide without contribution from Hutton.

Disaster struck for Queens just before the half hour mark when O'Connor was sandwiched by two Clyde players in a challenge. A foul was given against Mark Brown but far more importantly Sean O'Connor was stretchered off with his leg strapped up and replaced immediately by Stewart Kean. Scott Gemmill picked up the first yellow card of the game for a late challenge on Lancaster shortly after before Wilson fired over at the back post from a deep Burns cross. Neither side could add further to the scoring before the interval though.

Queens made a half time change with Stevie Tosh replacing Neil Scally as Gordon Chisholm sought some creativity in midfield and Dobbie immediately forced a save from Hutton. At the other end though MacLennon fired a volley wide from the edge of the box. Soon after there was some controversy when Neil Macfarlane went down with a head knock from an accidental challenge on the edge of the Clyde box as the home side broke. Referee Calum Murray followed the guidance and stopped play much to the disgust of the home fans and the home players! More controversy followed on the hour when McCann went down on the edge of the box out wide. Mr Murray appeared initially to give nothing but his assistant indicated a foul so next thing he was pointing at the spot only to change his mind straight away with another gesture from the assistant that the offence was outside the box. The free kick came to nothing.

Paul Burns picked up a booking on 70 minutes for persistent offending. Queens had by now moved into a 3-5-2 formation with McCann pushed further forward on the right and Burns tucking inside more centrally. With 12 minutes to go Jamie McQuilken replaced Barry Wilson and Queens were level within a minute. Harris and Dobbie exchanged passes on the left before Dobbie cut inside and paid the ball off to Stevie Tosh who fired the ball into the bottom corner from 30 yards out.

Clyde should probably have retaken the lead within seconds but McLaren's effort curled just past the post. Then came an incredible incident when a bouncing ball forward wasn't dealt with by the Clyde back line under pressure from Kean and the ball broke for McQuilken to hit at goal. His shot beat Hutton but was blocked by the heels of Kean who simply couldn't get out of the way! John Brown sent McKay on for Trouten with five minutes remaining and he was clean through on the keeper seconds later but fortunately struck straight at Robinson who saved easily. In the final seconds Dobbie got clear to get a shot off but Hutton managed to make the save and what was fundamentally a poor game finished a point apiece, as it probably deserved to.
