At just 25 Andy is Queen's longest serving player and has made the most appearances for the club. Ayr United, Southampton, Brighton, Kingstonians

Known to John Connolly when at Ayr United as a youth, went to Southampton and made a few first team appearances in the Premiership before heading to Brighton. Was player of the season at Kingstonians in season 1999/00. Last season was unlucky with injuries that saw him lose his regular place in the side, when fit again he found it difficult to force his way back in but with an injury to regular stopper Jim Thomson, Del produced some outstanding performances in the early part of the season only to have his run cut short through injury.

A solid left back, holds his position well and rarely gets drawn into a mistake. Signed from Alloa during season 2001/02. This term has seen him play in between Andy Aitken and Jim Thomson in the middle of the three man defence in a role that he seems to relish.

Another excellent signing by John Connolly, Paddy provides a level of versatility that is so rare in the modern game. Happy at left back, right back or further forward he is a true Mr Versatile. Last season saw another impressive year from the Geordie as he weighed in with three goals. Injuries have plagued his season so far this term but it looks as though he may be making his way back with a couple of substitute appearances in the past few weeks.

Has signed up for season 2003/04.

His performances at Gateshead attracted the attention of a number of league sides with Norwich City, Oxford United amongst others interested in capturing his signature. Season 2002/03 has seen Bowser enjoy an injury free first team run where his presence has proven invaluable, it is often the Geordie who is the 'engine room' of the Queens midfield.

ALAN GRAY -
[Alan Gray] Date of Birth:

A firm favourite at previous club Workington where he won a couple of the Player of the Season awards in season 2000/01, a highly rated right sided defender who has also benefited from a sports scholarship in the USA. Made more appearances than any other Queens player last season and scooped the main player of the season award, the Travel Club Player of the Year, also took the Globe Inn award. This season has seen Alan plagued with injury and unable to command a place in the side because of this.

Young striker who joined Partick Thistle as a youngster and came through their youth setup to turn professional with them. Joined Queens on a one month loan deal in February 2002 and immediately impressed, signed up at Palmerston this close season in a move that delighted both the fans and the player. Injured in the Ne'erday match with Ayr United and out for a month at least with a depressed fracture of the cheekbone.

JOE McALPINE -
[Joe McAlpine] Date of Birth:

Previous Clubs:

Profile:

A product of the Everton youth setup, joined from Airdrie in September 2001 and immediately made an impact in the side. A pacey left sided winger capable of delivering some telling crosses, his performances in the championship winning season were outstanding and he was the scourge of many a defence last term. His form this season has continued to be of the highest level and it is often from a Joe McAlpine inspired move that a goal is scored.

Retained for season 2003/04.

6' 3" striker joined late 2001/02 season from Dundee United, turned in an excellent performance against Queens whilst at Morton on loan. Signed shortly after although Queens had previously enquired about his availability. A strong running front man who along with Derek Lyle and Peter Weatherson is set to ensure that Queens do not suffer from a lack of fire power this term. His impressive early season form was cruelly ended by a former team mate as Sean suffered posterior cruciate ligament damage against Morton in the Bell's Cup that has seen him miss out on a couple of months of the season. Made a superb return but was injured again in January and will be out for a few weeks.

Retained for season 2003/04.

Experienced goalkeeper formerly with Rangers as understudy to Andy Goram. Joined from Clydebank a couple of seasons ago and last season took over the number one spot with the injury of Jamie Campbell, never looked like losing the position until he picked up a few niggling injuries, now vying for the first team stoppers spot with Andy Goram just as he was doing ten years ago at Ibrox, although his tendency to pick up injuries in warm-up has seen him confined to the bench.

Has signed up for season 2003/04.

A real aerial threat, holds the ball up well and makes good lay-offs to advancing midfielders. Found the goals more difficult to come by last season as he was much more closely marked but still managed to notch an impressive fifteen. Has been used both up front and deeper in behind the forwards to great effect.

Retained for season 2003/04.
